Bio

Steve Agee is an American comedian, actor, writer, and musician best known for portraying John Economos in the DC Extended Universe, beginning with The Suicide Squad (2021) and continuing in the HBO Max series Peacemaker, where he stars opposite John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, and Viola Davis. He first gained widespread recognition for his breakout role as Steve Myron on Comedy Central’s The Sarah Silverman Program, where his deadpan comedic style quickly made him a standout.

Agee’s film work includes playing Gef in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), appearing alongside Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, and Dave Bautista. He portrayed EJ in Brightburn (2019) with Elizabeth Banks and David Denman, and appeared as Comic Book Store Jerk in Super (2010), starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page. Other film credits include God Bless America (2011), featuring Joel Murray, and a return to the role of John Economos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023) with Zachary Levi and Helen Mirren. He also served as the on-set physical stand-in for King Shark, a character voiced by Sylvester Stallone.

On television, Agee has had memorable recurring roles as Outside Dave on New Girl, Isaac on Superstore, and Tig on 2 Broke Girls, along with guest appearances on Abbott Elementary. His comedy roots and improvisational background remain central to his screen presence.

In animation and voice acting, Agee voices John Economos in Creature Commandos and portrays Herakles in the animated series Krapopolis. He has also provided multiple voices for Rick and Morty, Bob’s Burgers, and Adventure Time, and contributed additional voices to the video game High on Life. Outside of acting, Agee wrote for over 300 episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and remains active as a musician, releasing the comedy?punk album Scab in 2021.
