Naheulband : Le Créateur / Le Ranger / La Voix du Donjon
The One-Man Transmedia Powerhouse
A pioneer of creative Internet culture, John Lang is a versatile artist who has been sharing his work online since 1995. He rose to fame in the early 2000s thanks to the free online release of the audio saga Le Donjon de Naheulbeuk. This parody of role-playing games set in a medieval-fantasy world became a cult phenomenon, later expanding into bandes dessinées, novels, and video games.
The Man of 1000 Voices (Even the Elf!)
On stage he embodies the Ranger, but in the original audio saga he performed every single voice. He is the grumpy Nain, the hungry Ogre, the brutal Barbare, the cowardly Voleur… and also the Elfe and the Magicienne (with a bit of audio trickery). He also voices iconic antagonists such as Zangdar and Reivax. This “solo behind the microphone” performance is what gave the Terre de Fangh its unique soul.
The Expanded and Video Game Universe
Always ahead of the curve, John regularly participates in conferences on multi?platform writing. The adventure continues on our screens with:
- Jeux Vidéo : L’Amulette du Désordre (2020), Le Maître du Donjon de Naheulbeuk (2023), and the VR fighting game Tavrne (2026).
- Récompense : In 2022, he received the Golden Troll d’Honneur at the festival Trolls et Légendes for 20 years of exceptional contribution to humorous fantasy.
The Musician
A fan of sci-fi, horror, and fantasy, he is also a musician. He travels across the francophone world with the Naheulband, performing concerts that bring his “héros de pacotille” to life through music inspired by traditional and Celtic influences.
