Bio
Tyler Hoechlin first captured wide attention as a young film actor and later became a household name for his portrayal of Superman on television, most notably as Clark Kent in Superman & Lois.
Hoechlin’s film work includes several notable credits. He made a striking early impression in Road to Perdition(2002), playing Michael Sullivan Jr. opposite Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, and Jude Law; that performance earned him critical attention and awards recognition, including a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor and a Critics’ Choice nomination. He later appeared in Richard Linklater’s ensemble comedy Everybody Wants Some!! (2016) alongside Blake Jenner, Zoey Deutch, and Glen Powell, and co-starred with Alexandra Daddario in the romantic comedy Can You Keep a Secret? (2019).
Before stepping into the cape and glasses, Hoechlin built a steady television résumé. He was a regular on 7th Heaven, where he played Martin Brewer, and he became widely known for his long-running, fan-favourite role as Derek Hale on MTV’s Teen Wolf, a part that cemented his status as a genre star and earned him a devoted following. Along the way he also guest-starred on series such as Lincoln Heights and made appearances on procedural and comedy shows, steadily expanding his profile until his casting as Superman brought him mainstream superhero stardom.
